If you believe it, you can be it!
True beauty stays, it doesn't fade.
True beauty stays, it doesn't fade.
These are 2 of my new mottos! As I remain challenged by the diagnosis of breast cancer this past year and choosing to heal myself naturally, it has been important to dig into WHO I really am and WHAT is important to me. I have always preferred "a la natural" so this year has been a test as to how much I like it :). I have always been an advocate of eating well, exercising, and positive self-esteem, so these general personal beauty tips might be of no surprise. I wanted to take things a bit further and also share some of the "other things" that have contributed to getting me healthy and staying healthy. Truthfully, we cannot battle time. We are all going to age, get old and wrinkly at some point in time, and die of something. Perhaps if we can really focus on quality of life, quality of who we are on the inside, and now the quality of products we consume, WE can all grow old GRACEFULLY. Perhaps if we are happy with ourselves, it is ENOUGH to lead a healthy lifestyle naturally and be ok with WHO we are and HOW we look. Perhaps if we STOP comparing we will be adequate enough, successful enough, pretty enough, youthful enough, and smart enough. YES it's fun to wear a cute outfit, accessorize, put on some makeup, and spritz on the smell goods. YES we should exercise and eat nutritiously so we can be healthy, feel good, and look good. BUT this INSIDES are what I am mostly concerned with for all of us. It's so easy to get sucked into a frame of thinking that is unhealthy for us, does us no good, and is really our "perception" of things.
How do YOU view LIFE? Are YOU respectful to ALL people? WHAT do you think about YOURSELF? WHY are you here on earth? WHAT is your PURPOSE? WHAT can you GIVE while you are here? These are the questions we should be asking ourselves. All the "other stuff" CAN help make day-to-day more fun, but it's more like the minor leagues vs. the major leagues. They are both great, one just has a better pay off. :) SO dealing with your insides IS MAJOR.
What are your INSIDES? Yes we can talk intestines, organs, cardiovascular system, etc, but INSIDES also include your spirit, your emotions, and your thoughts. Sometimes these can feel so FAR away and FOREIGN to approach. I personally have always read lots of self-help books, but most recently started meditating. It's kind of like exercise. You just have to do it. No excuses. Also, having a life-threatening illness will do the trick too, but I don't recommend this type of therapy. :) Point is, there might be other ways that work best for YOU, it's just finding those ways. What will challenge you to step "out of your box" or "off your box" or totally eliminate your box? WHAT will you do to LIVE more FREELY without restrictions? WILL you ALLOW yourself to change your line of thinking? Can you STOP always having to be "right" or "get the last word in" OR will you keep interrupting your life? We are human, so we falter, we err, it's only natural, BUT we DO HAVE THE POWER to live the best life we can. It's up to us. Nobody else. If we aren't and things aren't going great, it's nobody else's fault. We are in control and we need to take it by the horns and ride into the sunset. My other famous motto sums this up purrfectly.... Make it Reign. Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time.
